The answer is...

if and when there is co-op.

The reason I have bought (and more to the point, continued to play and enjoy) games with features similar to this one, is playing co-op with friends. I fully understand the motivation to get a good solid single-player product out first, but as I'm sure you are aware there is a far greater market to be considered in co-op! If it remains single-player myself and my friends will not buy it, and will probably forget about it by the time there is co-op! This would be a shame.

Thank you for posting. We care a lot of gamer opinions. It seems that co-op is one of the main gamer concern about the game.

We do plan to make a complete multi-player (co-op, versus) mode.

But for that, we need to have a good solo experience which means: having a good working/balanced feature' set so that we just can do something very interesting during co-op games...

It will not take so long.
